Snow Days!
We have been snowed in for 2 days now . . . . no school for Caden, and no work for Damon today since there is no getting either of our cars out of the driveway. The kids went outside for a little bit yesterday and we all went out today for some fun in the 10+ inches of snow we got last night! As most of you know, we have the best hill ever for sledding!
Ralphie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This might have been the only time she smiled - the rest of time she cried about being cold!

Breaking News!
Caden learned how to tie his shoes tonight!!! This has been a long time coming, a lot of practicing and a lot of patience on everyones part. He is so proud and said that now he wouldn't have to ask his teacher to help him anymore. Our big boy :)
I remember exactly when I learned how to tie my shoes too, so it must be a really exciting thing for a child around 5-6 years old. I recall being on the bus and making a point to reach down and tie them in front of one of the older kids so they could see just how cool I was. Anyone have a similar story? I'd love to hear it!

Bear With Me . . . I'm a New Blogger :)
Welcome to our new family blog! Since the kids' website crashed and hasn't been available for several months, I thought I would attempt blogging as a way to share new pictures of the kids and news from our family.
So, Happy New Year! We have had a busy and fun 2009 so far. We started it off with a bang, celebrating my 31st birthday in Bloomington with Holly, Scott, Christie and Jeff. We ended the night at the Office Lounge doing Karaoke . . . It was a REALLY fun night!
Caden is playing in a basketball league at our church and loves it. It is fun to watch him play, the only bad thing is that his games are at 8:00 on Saturday mornings. It is hard to get everyone up and out the door that early!
He will also start little league in the spring, which will be something new for him. He has been playing soccer since age 3, and has gotten pretty good at it. But he has decided to sit soccer out this spring to try baseball, so I guess we will see which one he likes best. I'm predicting soccer . . . but who knows? I do know we can't do basketball, soccer AND baseball since they are all pretty much going on at the same time. Plus, I am certain football will be added in the mix when he is old enough, as he is 100% positive he is going to grow up to be a professional football player.
Marina started dance class right before Christmas, and really loves it - especially getting dressed up and in the leotards and tutus. She is doing tap/ballet right now and we will probably sign her up for gymnastics too in a couple of years. She loves showing off the moves she learns in class . . jump in, jump out . . . jump in, jump out!!!!
